A1466 MacBook Air Cracked Screen

This MacBook air took a big hit that cracked the LCD panel badly. This is one of those times where the hit was bad enough that it even damgaed the backlight sheets behind the LCD panel. This is rare on most cracks, but if something hits the screen at a point, sometimes the backlight sheet is damaged and that causes a white blemish on the screen even after repair.

You can see in the picture below how this screen was badly cracked at a point.

After I replaced the LCD panel, a few white spots were still present on the screen. I had warned the client that this was a possible outcome, so they were not surprised when I sent them the pictures to verify they wanted to continue with the LCD-only replacement. These white spots are purely cosmetic and will not get worse with time.
