This is a great example of when the glass gets cracked on a macbook pro but the LCD panel still works! We like to liken it to a car’s windshield. If you are able to see the image on the screen but there is a crack over the top, it is likely just the glass that needs replaced. If the image is distorted than there is a good chance the LCD panel is damaged.
In this case because only the glass is cracked we were able to repair the screen for $129. The repair price included a new panel of glass and the labor to install it. While most Mac repair shops replace the entire display assembly, we are able to replace just the damaged part on these older Macs, which saves you money!
