The original 13″ white and black MacBook computers all use the same LCD. This is great for compatibility, but it also means that they are all prone to the same failures. One particular brand of screen Apple used in this particular model has an issue with the backlight wires coming loose inside the computer monitor. Another issue is that the mounting hardware allows for the screen to “flex”, making this machine more prone to LCD damage when it is dropped.
